Hexagons&Puff Stitches


This is part one of my hexagon blanket! I even have a couple videos to help with the process! I picked this yarn up at my local Michaels. I fell in love with the color and the softness of it. I couldn't wait to put it my stash. I first worked it up as a poncho but then frogged the whole thing and made hexagons. Here's the finished product! Isn't it lovely?




Hexagon&Puff Stitch Edge

Notes:

  • You will be making 28 hexagons and 7 half hexagons.
  •  I joined the hexagons together using single crochet. 
  • Rows will begin with ch 3 which counts as a st
  • all rows will be finished with a slip st to the first ch. 3 unless otherwise stated
  • In the half hexagons you will be turning your work at the end of each row

Hexagon: make 28

Row 1: Begin with a Magic Circle, Ch 3, 1 DC, ch 2
(2 DC, ch 2) Repeat 4 more times (12)

Row 2: Ch 3,  2 DC, 1 DC (in Ch Sp), ch 2, 1 DC (in Ch Sp) 2 DC, 1 DC (inCh Sp) ch 2, Repeat 4 times  (24)

Row 3: Ch 3, 4 DC, 1 DC (in Ch Sp), ch 2, 1 DC (in Ch. Sp), 4 DC, 1 DC (in Ch Sp) Repeat 4 more times (36)

Row 4: Ch 3, 6 DC, 1 DC (in Ch Sp), ch 2, 1 DC (in Ch Sp) 6 DC, 1 Dc (in Ch Sp) Repeat 4 times (48)

Row 1: Magic circle, ch 3, 1 DC (ch 2) 2 DC (ch 2) 2 DC, turn (6)

Row 2: ch 3, 1 DC in the next 2 st, (1 DC, ch 2, 1 DC) 1 DC  in the next 2 st 1 (1 DC ch 2, 1 DC) 1 DC in the next 3 st, turn (12)


Row 3: ch 3, 1 DC in the next 4 st (1 DC, ch 2, 1 DC) 1 DC in the next 4 st, (1 DC in the ch sp, ch 2, 1 DC in the ch sp) 1 DC in the next 5 st, turn (18)
